Longing
The sun must be shining on the fields now,
And snow frozen on the tips of the grass.
I cant rest anymore in the evening
With my head in your hands.Scary winter night,
Dont you havea warm bed at all!
Wild flowers that carper the mountains,
Which wind will catch your scent!I’ll cut my hair and throw it into the wind
So you will hear from me some day!
The devil in me says:
Go on, do whatever comes to mind.I wrote this poem during a horse drill,
While doing my service in Istanbul,
Snow was falling heavily,
My horse’s mane was the color of clouds.Cahit KÜLEBİ
